Beaumaris’ Own Lilly Ryan Selected for Melbourne CC Women’s First XI Grand Final

Beaumaris Cricket Club is incredibly proud to celebrate a wonderful milestone for one of our own, with Lilly Ryan selected to play her first Melbourne Cricket Club Women’s First XI match in this weekend’s grand final against Geelong.

It is a tremendous achievement for Lilly and one that reflects the hard work, resilience, and talent she has shown throughout the season. Having played with our women's, men’s and boys’ teams at various times for Beaumaris this year, Lilly has continued to challenge herself in different environments, building her game, overcoming injury and now being selected for her first game.

Her selection in Melbourne’s top women’s side comes on the back of a series of strong performances. Among the highlights was an outstanding top score of 50 for Melbourne's seconds team in the grand final.

Lilly’s journey started as a junior at Beaumaris CC and is a brilliant example of our wonderful program that has been growing in its current from since 2021/2022. We wish Lilly and Melbourne the best in the Grand Final. - Ange Baker

To see Lilly earn the opportunity to represent Melbourne CC Women’s First XI on the biggest stage is a proud moment for her teammates, her coaches, family and the broader Beaumaris Cricket Club community. Her achievement also highlights the strength of the pathways available to young female cricketers and the value of players testing themselves across different competitions and teams.
