300 GAMES FOR A TRUE CLUB STALWART
A massive congratulations to David ‘Tooly’ Matulis who brought up an incredible 300 senior games for the Sharks on Saturday 20th of December.
The Sharks were able to celebrate with a win for Tooly, making 8-160 off their 35 overs. Tooly made a quick fire 14 off 15 balls including a couple of boundaries. In front of a contingent of supporters the Sharks were able to bowl Parkdale out for 103. To top it off, Tooly took a characteristic sharp catch as wicketkeeper and was involved in a run out. Celebrations were held back at the club where long-time friend and teammate Cameron Girdwood made a few words and presented Tooly with his 300 game plaque on behalf of the club.
With no junior cricket for the club, Tooly has made 300 senior appearances built on loyalty, hard work and heart. So many past and present Beaumaris CC players had their first taste of senior cricket under Tooly’s guidance and leadership. On and off the field, he’s done it all; captain, premiership player, committee member, volunteer, selection manager, and a long-time contributor to Cricket Southern Bayside. His love for Beaumaris is always worn proudly on his sleeve. Congratulations David, Tooly, Box!
